Why: McLain faces Austin Gomber, a LHP for the Colorado Rockies. Gomber has a 7.29 ERA this season, and although he has been better on the road, he has struggled all season, for the most part. McLain should see a variety of 4-seam FBs, change-ups, knuckle curves, and sliders from Gomber. McLain has fared well against the FB, change-up, and curveball this season and has decent numbers against the slider. While McLain has never faced Gomber, he has feasted off lefties this season, boasting a .382 BA with 6 XBHs in 34 ABs. This game will take place at Great American Ball Park, one of MLB’s hitter-friendliest ballparks. McLain has done well at his home park, and I expect the trend to continue tonight.
